VUKALLECTIVE ARCHIVE

Since 2014 the Vukallective has been creating work that blends together high concepts that are accessible and commercial while maintaining their artistic integrity.

You can view our projects in Chronological order below where we work to ensure that every single person, animal and entity we have worked with receives credit. We only house projects we had a part in producing.  Marketing projects can be viewed on Instagram.

We are currently working on various online projects during the COVID - 19 pandemic. We will return to our first love of theatre in 2021.

In a forgotten corner in one 2nd-tier city, there is a small, macabre establishment that allows Consumers to experience reality with some of the last remaining Afrikaners dating back to the early period when the autonomous region of Nánfei was invaded by the enemy, who has always been the enemy and will always remain the enemy of The Party. These Afrikaners and their identity are on display for your enjoyment and pleasure. Let them fulfil every need you have, just remember what goes around comes around.

The colours of light are infinite through refraction, yet they all come from the same source. This is a calling to which I have been led. I am subservient to this profession; thus, I cannot detach myself from the most wicked soul. I must maintain the dignity of my profession, yet I cannot fail to identify with the most virtuous soul. The moment I feel sorry, I am of no assistance. Who am I?

A dance theatre production by Mark Antony Dobson and Motlatsi Moeketsi Khotle, "Thirst" blends together theatre, dance and performance in one of the most anticipated productions of 2018.

As part of the PACOFS and The Department of Arts & Culture Incubator programme, one of the most successful emerging artist programmes in the country, this latest offering from the dance division at PACOFS sees many familiar faces from previous Incubator intakes come together to create a theatre experience that combines all the new and innovative work artists in Bloemfontein have to offer.

This spine chilling and gripping story draws a thin line between reality and fantasy, acting and being, seeing and believing, a dance between Boer and Bantu, a political symphony, with a lonely voice singing: “Maar ek sal bly maak en breek en bou, my Afrika-lyf en skepping met valse voorwendsels en verwagtinge verwoes, tot eendag wanneer jy my sal raaksien – my sal sien en sê: Ons almal lyk mos maar so…” Freedom. Very few people know what happens within themselves, why they have certain feelings, why they suddenly feel unhappy or content with themselves, why they go through periods of depression, etc. Arena is a Physical Theatre production focused on the questions we carry with us.

he debacle of not just loving someone else but, coming to love who you are, is one of the primary focuses of the play. Issues such as Betrayal, Lust, Loss, Freedom and Happiness are also explored and expressed through the history of each performer and expressed through dance.
